Annual report / license tax
Wyoming LLCs file an annual report. The license tax is the greater of $60 or two-tenths of one mill ($0.0002) of assets located and employed in Wyoming. Most small LLCs with limited Wyoming assets pay the $60 minimum.
Due on the first day of the anniversary month of formation.

Franchise / privilege tax
The annual report license tax functions as Wyoming’s recurring entity levy for LLCs; there is no separate California-style flat franchise tax beyond that formula.
Registered agent
A Wyoming registered agent is required. Commercial registered agents must meet SOS rules; commercial service prices are separate from state filing fees.
Publication requirement
None.

FAQ
Why do people call Wyoming “cheap” for LLCs?
Low formation fee ($100) and a modest minimum annual license tax ($60) compared with states like California ($800 FTB tax) or Illinois ($75 report + higher formation). Privacy and asset rules also attract organizers — which is separate from fee amounts.
